SUSTAINABILITY

We operate on a made-to-order basis to prevent overproduction. This allows us to limit the amount of offcuts produced from hand sewn lace styles. All embroidery takes place in our London studio and all garments are sewn in the UK.

With a conscious effort to reduce waste, OIZA sources dead stock, recycled or organic materials where possible as well as repurposing textiles to make one-off pieces.

OIZA is taking part in the British Fashion Council’s Low Carbon Transition Programme, part of the Institute of Positive Fashion. This programme is an industry-leading example of practical steps to decarbonise fashion’s supply chains and understand opportunities to move to more circular operations.

Through this programme, we have measured our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. From this baseline, we developed a low carbon transition plan tailored to our business which will look at us reducing our emissions by 2030.

We recognise that measuring our emissions and setting a plan is the first step.

The British Fashion Council’s Low Carbon Transition Programme is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and is being delivered in partnership with QSA Partners LLP, Seedling, and Think Circular.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) launched the Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) as a think tank to address the fashion industry’s environmental impact and the ongoing climate crisis.
